Unique Magazines: Championing the Next Generation of Creatives
15th April 2026A Different Way to Experience Live Music
When you think of live music, you probably picture a few things. Large venues packed with people. Small pubs filled with the sound of Friday night conversations. Crowds singing along, drinks flowing and phones lighting up the room. But what about experiencing live music in a completely different way?
An evening where people put their phones away, sat together to truly listen, and fully embraced the feeling of live music without distractions.
That is exactly what our very first Mag Studio Session with Matt Fairley became.

Welcoming Guests into The Mag Room
The evening began in The Mag Room at Unique Magazines, where guests were welcomed with a complimentary beer or non-alcoholic drink, alongside the chance to browse magazines and connect with new people before the session began. From designers and illustrators to music lovers, friends and family, the room quickly filled with conversation, creativity and curiosity.
After mingling, we headed into The Mag Studio to introduce the evening and welcome Matt, the incredible talent behind the night.

An Intimate Performance from Matt Fairley
For the next hour, the room fell silent.
In an intimate setting with no phones in sight, we immersed ourselves in the power of live music and storytelling. Through his songs and conversations, Matt took us on a journey through his life, opening up about challenges, setbacks, resilience and the experiences that shaped him. His honesty and authenticity created an atmosphere that felt personal, emotional and incredibly human.
The respect within the space, combined with the absence of distractions, allowed everyone to be fully present. It became more than just a live performance. It was a reminder of how powerful physical experiences can be when people come together to truly listen, feel and connect.
Stories, Conversations and Connection
One of the most special moments of the evening came during the Q&A session afterwards. Guests asked Matt about everything from learning to play guitar upside down to his creative inspirations and song writing journey. What followed was a genuine and uplifting conversation, where people openly shared how moved they were by his music and talent.

As the evening continued, guests returned to The Mag Room for more browsing, conversations and direct chats with Matt himself. New connections were formed, ideas were exchanged and the atmosphere remained warm long after the music had ended.
Guests described the evening as inspiring, immersive and unlike any live music event they had experienced before.
“The Mag Studio Session with Matt Fairley was such a wholesome and inspiring evening. It was a great chance to meet new people, browse the amazing selection of magazines and experience live music in such an intimate setting.”
“A truly unique live music experience. Hearing the stories behind the lyrics made the performance feel even more special, while the atmosphere inside The Mag Studio created the perfect environment to relax, listen and feel inspired.”

Physical Memories
As guests left the evening, they took away far more than just memories of the performance itself. Each attendee received a carefully curated goodie bag filled with physical memorabilia from the night, creating a lasting reminder of the night they had shared together.
One of the most special pieces included was a handwritten and signed lyric sheet from the launch of Matt’s brand new single, Strangers. Guests at The Mag Studio Sessions became the very first people to hear the track performed live, making the evening feel even more exclusive and personal.
The Launch of The Mag Studio Sessions
The Mag Studio Sessions are designed to bring people closer to creativity. Each session invites musicians, industry professionals, magazine publishers and creatives into The Mag Studio to share their craft, tell their stories and create meaningful experiences with an audience.
Built around inspiration, creativity and connection, The Mag Studio Sessions are designed to bring people together through live experiences and storytelling.
The Mag Studio Sessions have officially begun, and if this first evening proved anything, it’s that people are still searching for real experiences they can truly connect with and remember.
In many ways, these evenings reflect the same reason people still love print. Just like reading a magazine, hearing live music in person encourages us to slow down, be present and immerse ourselves in something real. In a world dominated by screens, notifications and constant scrolling, physical experiences like live events, conversation and print offer something increasingly valuable, genuine human connection.
That is exactly what The Mag Studio was created to celebrate.
