At Unique Magazines, our mission is to put high-quality print into the hands of students and creatives who are looking to elevate their current work and shape their future goals.

We work closely with universities and student groups in a variety of ways — from pop-ups with Northumbria University’s Fashion Communication students, supporting their final-year projects, to collaborating with magazine societies, and attending fashion shows at Teesside University to celebrate and support the emerging talent around us.

Beyond our on-campus presence, we welcome students into our bricks-and-mortar magazine store in the heart of Swalwell.

It’s a space filled with printed inspiration across architecture, interiors, art, fashion, culture, and much more. We stock hundreds of independent titles that are designed to spark creativity, shift perspectives, and offer fresh ideas. It’s a refreshing step away from the digital scroll — a chance to slow down, flip through beautiful pages, and enjoy the tactile experience of print in real life.

And if you’d like to settle in and explore a title before deciding to buy, we’ve even created a cosy study space — our very own magazine lounge. It’s quiet, private, and the perfect spot to dive into a magazine, make notes, gather inspiration, and decide if it’s something you’d like to take home with you.

To make things even easier, we’ve launched a click-and-collect service.

This is especially handy for students looking for specific magazines for research or project inspiration. Whether it’s a monthly subscription to a classic like Vogue for fashion students, or something more niche for creative arts students hunting for their next concept, we’ve got you covered. It’s fast, reliable, and student friendly.

For students just starting their academic journey, we also aim to be a source of motivation and creative spark. We recently became sponsors of Newcastle College, hosted a pop-up shop there, and are excited for more collaborative opportunities
