HMV Newcastle Grand Reopening: Celebrating Music, Print and Physical Media with Unique Magazines
25th March 2026Introducing Music in Print
At Unique Magazines, we have always valued the tangibility of print. There is something special about holding and preserving publications filled with artistry, community and love. This Easter, we are channelling our message into something new. A campaign that combines two worlds that rely on the preservation of physical media: music and print.
Music in Print is a social media campaign that celebrates the tangible relationship between vinyl and print, championing local businesses whilst encouraging people to preserve and collect physical media. It is about the collectors, fans and supporters who value the record sleeve or music magazine just as seriously as the music itself.

Why Music in Print?
We understand that physical media can have a plethora of meanings to different people, whether that is nostalgia, collectability or, for many, the beauty of owning something real. Music in Print celebrates all of these reasons, encouraging people to slow their consumption and invest in things that not only support artists but are worth keeping.
For us at Unique Magazines, this feels like a natural extension of what we already value, considering our conscious efforts to always champion independent creatives. In an age of digital media and endless scrolling, we want to shine a light on the musicians, local businesses and the communities that keep these physical elements alive.

So…What’s Happening?
This campaign is in celebration of Record Store Day 2026 (18th April). It is a day dedicated to celebrating the people who make up the world of record shops: the staff, the customers, the artists and the labels. It honours the role they play in our communities as places where music lovers of all backgrounds can come together.
Music in Print will roll out across our social media channels with content supporting local record shops and celebrating the culture surrounding vinyl records, music magazines and print. Alongside this content series, we will also be hosting a special event celebrating the connection between music and print, bringing together people who share a love of physical media. Make sure to stay updated on our socials for more information about the event and how to get involved.
Whether you want to explore the world of magazine collecting, learn more about Record Store Day, or simply connect with like-minded people who share your love of physical media, there is something here for you.

Get Involved
Follow us on our socials to keep up with everything Music in Print and get yourself down to your local record shop on Record Store Day this April. We would also love to welcome you in-store to The Mag Room, where you can explore our range of music magazines and discover even more in the world of print.
Because for the record… it is made to last.
