PRINT IS NOT DEAD: An Evening of Print Beyond the Page

A new semester comes with new possibilities…
After a long summer of sun and probably not a book in sight, you’re ready to dive back in and tackle another year. Armed with new matching stationery (which you’ll probably lose in 0.5 seconds) and an extra spring in your step after a well-deserved break, it’s time to get inspired again.

Keeping that new year momentum going is important, and that’s why getting out there, exploring new creative possibilities, and saying yes to new experiences is vital for a successful year.

At Unique Magazines, print is at the heart of everything we do, but so is our Northeast community. Without the passionate creatives who bring their visions to life in print, our shelves wouldn’t be overflowing with incredible magazines from all corners of the creative world.

That’s why we’re giving back to the aspiring and future creatives of the Northeast by inviting students to our immersive evening PRINT IS NOT DEAD at Tapyard Studios in Byker.

This event celebrates the power and passion of printed media and the people who keep it alive. Hear from independent publishers, from a newcomer launching their second issue to an experienced creator with over a decade in print, as they share their personal journeys, challenges, and what drew them to the world of publishing.

Following these talks, we’ll welcome a diverse panel of professionals, including a paper specialist, a fashion graduate, a freelance designer, and a university lecturer, each connected to print in their own unique way. They’ll share their insights on the future of print and how it continues to shape their creative paths.

Between presentations, grab a drink from the bar, chat with fellow attendees, and take the opportunity to network, connect, and discover something new.

PRINT IS NOT DEAD has been curated as both an educational and inspirational event, a space for Northeast creatives to share their stories, celebrate print, and inspire the next generation of makers, designers, and dreamers (that’s you!).

This event is perfect for students still studying or recent graduates looking for their next steps in the creative world.

Here at Unique Magazines, we don’t just love print, we live it. We believe that PRINT IS NOT DEAD, and we’re passionate about giving creativity in all its forms a platform to shine and inspire others.
